Description / Knock sensor
Knock is the uncontrolled or premature ignition of a mixture inside of a combustion engine. As knock results in the combustion pressing against the piston at the wrong time this can result in major damage tot the engine.
When an engine experiences knock this results in vibrations of a specific wavelength. A knock sensor is installed on the engine block to detect these vibrations. These signals are sent to the ECU which can take actions to protect the engine for damage. A knock sensor is also very interesting during tuning for adjusting timing to get the ideal detonation time.
This Bosch knock sensor can be used with most stand alone engine management systems and is able to work accurate and precise under extreme circumstances.
This sensor is capeable of delivering a lineair signal over a wide range of frequencies.
